पुलिस को दी तहरीर में मोहल्ला पक्काकोट, नागनाथ मंदिर के समीप कटोराताल निवासी प्रत्यक्ष मिश्रा पुत्र स्वर्गीय प्रशांत मिश्रा ने बताया कि उसके पिता इंडिया ग्लाइकोल लिमिटेड के बॉटलिंग प्लांट में ऑपरेटर के पद पर कार्यरत है। बीते 19 दिसंबर की रात्रि लगभग 8 बजे जब वह एसडीएम कोर्ट के समीप निवासी एक अन्य फैक्ट्रीकर्मी के साथ बाइक से वापस घर लौट रहे थे इसी दौरान बाजपुर रोड पर फायर ब्रिगेड के समीप एक महिला को बचाने के चक्कर में अज्ञात वाहन के चालक ने बाइक में टक्कर मार दी, जिससे उसके पिता गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गये। इस दौरान घायल को स्थानीय लोगों की मदद से समीप के एक अस्पताल ले जाया गया। यहां जब चिकित्सकों ने अन्यत्र रैफर कर दिया। इसके बाद रामनगर रोड स्थित एक हॉस्पिटल ले जाया गया जहां चिकित्सकों ने उन्हें मृत घोषित कर दिया। मृतक के दो पुत्र हैं दोनों अविवाहित हैं।
