हमीरपुर। हॉकी स्टिक को संभालने वाले हाथ रेहड़ी संभालने को मजबूर हो गए हैं। राष्ट्रीय खेल हॉकी की नैशनल खिलाड़ी नेहा सिंह अपनी छोटी बहन निकिता के साथ हमीरपुर के बाजार में फास्ट फूड की रेहड़ी चला रही है। यह नेहा का शौक नहीं बल्कि मजबूरी है। यह कहानी नहीं हकीकत है। बेशक महिला खिलाड़ियों ने ओलिम्पिक में राष्ट्रीय खेल हॉकी में उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन कर देश का मान बढ़ाया है, लेकिन इस खेल और इसके खिलाड़ियों के हालात देश में बदले नहीं हैं। हालात बेहतर होना तो दूर बद से बदतर होते जा रहे हैं। कॉलेज की पढ़ाई और खेल के करियर को बीच में ही छोड़कर नेहा परिवार का पेट पालने के लिए रेहड़ी लगाने को मजबूर है। कुछ माह पहले ही पिता की तबीयत बिगड़ने के बाद वह गंभीर बीमारी से ग्रस्त हो गए। पिता चंद्र सिंह मछली कॉर्नर चलाते थे। पिता के बीमार होने पर परिवार की पूरी जिम्मेदारी नेहा सिंह और उसकी छोटी बहन पर आ गई।
मूल रूप से मंडी के कोटली के रहने वाले इस परिवार के पास जमीन भी नहीं है, जिस वजह से हमीरपुर बाजार के बीचोंबीच वह एक झुग्गी में अपने परिवार के चार अन्य सदस्यों के साथ रह रही हैं। न तो नहाने की कोई व्यवस्था है और न ही शौचालय का कोई प्रबंध। झुग्गी में नेहा के बीमार पिता भी रह रहे हैं, जिन्हें डाक्टर ने स्वच्छ वातावरण में रहने की सलाह दी है। झुग्गी में 5 सदस्यों का परिवार है, वहीं पिछली तरफ बने बाड़े में एक बकरी और मुर्गी रखी हैं। नेहा के पिता पिछले कुछ समय से बीमार हैं। पहले उनका मेडिकल कॉलेज हमीरपुर में उपचार हुआ, उसके बाद उन्हें टांडा मेडिकल कॉलेज भेज दिया गया। वह कई महीनों से अब बिस्तर पर हैं और दोनों बेटियां रेहड़ी लगाकर परिवार की रोटी का भी प्रबंध कर रही हैं और पिता की दवाई का भी खर्च निकाल रही हैं। नेहा सिंह स्कूली पढ़ाई के दौरान ही साई होस्टल धर्मशाला के लिए चयनित हो गई। स्पोर्ट्स अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया के इस होस्टल में रहते हुए स्कूल के दौरान ही राष्ट्रीय स्तर की स्पर्धा में नेहा ने सिल्वर मैडल भी अपने नाम किया। उसने हिमाचल की टीम की तरफ से कुल दो नैशनल हॉकी मैच खेले हैं। इसके अलावा पंजाब यूनिवर्सिटी से वह वेटलिफ्टिंग में भी एक नैशनल प्रतियोगिता में भाग ले चुकी है। उभरती हुई इस खिलाड़ी की किस्मत को शायद कुछ और ही मंजूर था। पिता अचानक बीमार हुए तो नेहा ने छोटी बहन निकिता जो बीए की पढ़ाई कर रही है उसको साथ लेकर परिवार का जिम्मा संभाल लिया। छोटा भाई अंकुश है वह बाल स्कूल हमीरपुर में पढ़ रहा है। परिवार को यह उम्मीद थी कि बेटी नेहा राष्ट्रीय खिलाड़ी है तो उसे नौकरी मिल ही जाएगी, लेकिन न तो सरकारी नौकरी मिली और न ही अब नेहा खेलने के बारे में सोच रही है। इतना जरूर है कि जब कभी किसी टीम से खेलने के लिए पैसे मिल जाते हैं तो वह मैच में हिस्सा लेने के लिए तैयार हो जाती है। नेहा का कहना है कि एक मैच खेलने के उसे 1500 रुपए और खाने-पीने और रहने का खर्च मिल जाता है। मैच खेलने से मिलने वाले पैसे को भी नेहा पिता के इलाज और परिवार के पालन-पोषण पर खर्च करती है। कुछ समय पहले ही भूमिहीन होने पर उन्हें सरकार की तरफ से हमीरपुर नगर परिषद के ही वार्ड नंबर-10 के समीप 4 मरले जमीन आबंटित की गई थी। नेहा की मां निर्मला देवी कहती है कि सरकार की तरफ से उन्हें जमीन आबंटित की गई है। अधिकारियों का तो हमें पूरा सहयोग मिल रहा है लेकिन बेटी को नौकरी न मिलने से उन पर विपदा दोगुना हो गई है। पति के बीमार होने के बाद बेटियों ने किसी तरह से परिवार को संभाला है। इतना कहते-कहते नेहा की मां की आंखों में आंसू भी आ गए। रुंधे हुए गले से उन्होंने सरकार से बेटी के लिए नौकरी की मांग की है। निर्मला का कहना है कि कमेटी की तरफ से घर के निर्माण के लिए सरकार की तरफ से पैसे दिलाए जाने की बात कही गई है, लेकिन अभी तक पैसे का कोई प्रबंध नहीं हो पाया है। उन्होंने उधार लेकर मकान बनाने का काम शुरू किया था, लेकिन अब यह काम भी पति के बीमार होने के बाद अधर में लटक गया है। नेहा का कहना है अब तो खेल में करियर की कोई उम्मीद नहीं है। अब सिर्फ परिवार के गुजारे के लिए वह मैच खेल लेती हूं ताकि कुछ पैसे मिल जाएं। आठवीं कक्षा के दौरान ही उसका चयन स्पोर्ट्स अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया के धर्मशाला होस्टल के लिए हो गया था। हॉकी में उसने जूनियर वर्ग में 2 नैशनल खेले हैं और वेट लिफ्टिंग में पंजाब की तरफ से नैशनल स्पर्धा में हिस्सा लिया। उसने सरकार से मांग उठाई है कि जल्द घर के निर्माण के लिए उन्हें पैसा मिल जाए तथा सरकार की तरफ से राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर खेलने वाले खिलाड़ियों को रोजगार दिया जाए। नगर परिषद हमीरपुर के कार्यकारी अधिकारी किशोरी लाल ठाकुर ने कहा कि यह मामला उनके ध्यान में है। प्रधानमंत्री आवास योजना के तहत इस परिवार को घर निर्माण के लिए निदेशालय को प्रपोजल भेजी गई है। उम्मीद है कि इस प्रपोजल को जल्द ही मंजूरी मिलेगी।
