काशीपुर। हर गरीब का सपना होता है कि उसका भी अपना घर हो, लेकिन आर्थिक तंगी के चलते वह अपना सपना पूरा नहीं कर पाता। इन्हीं सपनों को पूरा करने बीड़ा उठाया है प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने।
प्रधानमंत्री आवास योजना के तहत ग्राम धौनपुरी जुड़का निवासी शंकर सिंह का परिवार कच्ची झोंपड़ी में रहता था और मेहनत मजदूरी कर अपने परिवार का पालन पोषण करता था। आर्थक तंगी के चलते वह अपना मकान नहीं बना सकता था। वर्ष 2018-19 में सर्वेक्षण के उपरांत प्रधानमंत्री आवास योजना प्रतीक्षा सूची में शंकर सिंह का नाम शामिल किया गया। ग्राम पंचायत की खुली बैठक में अनुमोदन के उपरांत वर्ष 2020-21 में शंकर सिंह कों धनराशि आवंटित की गयी, जिससे उसने पक्के मकान व शौचालय का निर्माण कराया। इसी तरह कुण्डेश्वरी में राजेन्द्र सिंह का परिवार किराये के मकान में रहता था। राजेन्द्र सिंह एक विकलांग व्यक्ति है और अखबार बांटकर अपने परिवार का गुजारा करता था तथा मकान नहीं बना सकता था। इसी तरह राजेन्द्र सिंह को भी प्रधानमंत्री आवास योजना के तहत धनराशि मिली और उसने भी अपने मकान का निर्माण कराया। अब दोनों परिवार सरकार व शासन का आभार व्यक्त करते हैं।
